Collision of shock-waves in AdS and holography
A. Duenas-Vidal, M.A. Vazquez-Mozo
In recent years, the holographic principle, and in particular the gauge/gravity correpondence established by Maldacena, has shown to be a powerful non-pertubative tool to study strongly-coupled Yang-Mills phenomenology. As an application of such conection we study the thermalization after the collision of two energy-lumps in the boundary of AdS through the trapped surfaces formation in gravitational shock-waves collisions inside AdS. In particular we study collisions with non-zero impact parameter between two identical energy-lumps and head-on collisions between two non-equally sized energy-lumps in several dimensions.
