Quantum Gravity phenomenology: achievements and challenges

Quantum gravity (QG) approaches have suffered for many years a chronic lack of observational tests. The "book of nature" seemed locked to our eyes by the seemingly unnatural size of the Planck scale. The last decade has however witnessed a series of striking successes in casting some constraints on possible QG induced effects, in particular those related to the breakdown of Lorentz invariance at high energies.
In this talk I will review the state of affairs in this matter and discuss future perspectives not only with respect to Lorentz violation tests but also with regards of other possible QG phenomenology tests suggested by analogue models of gravity as toy models of emergent gravity scenarios.
