Particle production in BEC with sonic horizons

Stefano Finazzi

The possibility of set up Bose-Einstein condensates with sonic horizons in laboratories is now reality and the particle production in these space-times will be tested thanks to very peculiar signatures of such a phenomenon. Therefore a theoretical and numerical investigation of all possible configurations is required to correctly interpret the forthcoming experimental results. In this talk I shall present our numerical results of spectra and fluxes of particles created in BEC with sonic horizons, comparing them with standard Hawking radiation.
