Numerical relativity as a tool for discovery

This talk will discuss some examples where the ability to solve Einstein equations in extreme scenarios give us key insights into fascinating phenomena which help raise further questions. In particular we will discuss the ability of black holes to generate jets as they interact with surrounding plasma as well as a their possibly instability and violation of cosmic censorship in higher dimensional gravity.
