Conserved Charges of Quadratic Curvature Gravity Theories in Arbitrary Backgrounds

B. Ozgur Sarioglu, Deniz Olgu Devecioglu

We extend the definition of conserved gravitational charges of quadratic curvature gravity theories for arbitrary backgrounds. This charge is background gauge invariant and reduces correctly to the already known limit when the background is a space of constant curvature. As an application we use this definition to compute the charges of various black holes in New Massive Gravity in three dimensions.
